Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. is set to announce his intention to run for a congressional seat in the first district of Pampanga before the end of the month.
On his Facebook page, Lazatin said that the declaration will be held at Magalang Plaza in Magalang town on June 28, coinciding what would have been the 90th birthday of his late father, former Pampanga 1st District congressman and three-time Angeles City Mayor, Camelo “Tarzan” Lazatin.
“This is a momentous event for me as this marks the beginning of yet another journey in my political career,” he said.
“Kung nanu pu ing gewa ning kanakung pengari — Congressman Tarzan — at ning kanakung kaputul — Congressman Jon — isundu ku pu,” the mayor said.
Lazatin is serving his second term as mayor of Angeles City.
