As the digital economy continues to reshape the business landscape, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country are being equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive.
Leading the charge in this effort is PLDT Enterprise’s MSME Day Series, a key initiative designed to empower small businesses with digital solutions, fostering growth and innovation in a rapidly evolving market.
Set to culminate in Pampanga, the MSME Day Series has already made significant strides in cities like Iloilo and Dipolog. The initiative, supported by partners such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Philippines and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), provides entrepreneurs with critical resources to enhance their digital readiness. USAID has emphasized how digitalization can promote financial inclusion and unlock new market opportunities, particularly for rural enterprises, while the DTI offers guidance on leveraging government programs for digital upskilling.
“Digital transformation is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity,” said Jay Lagdameo, Vice President and Head of Enterprise Revenue Group at PLDT Enterprise. “The tools and support provided through initiatives like the MSME Day Series are essential for local businesses to remain competitive in today’s digital-first world.”
In Dipolog, the event saw strong participation, with local entrepreneurs learning about key digital tools, including online payment systems, and digital presence optimization. The series’ localized approach also ensures that each session addresses region-specific challenges, making the insights and solutions directly applicable to the businesses in attendance.
Beyond expert talks and workshops, the MSME Day Series brings together a diverse network of partners, including Maya and Multisys, alongside various local chambers of commerce. These collaborations provide participants with access to a wide array of digital tools and best practices, critical for the survival and growth of MSMEs in the current economic climate.
“At PLDT Enterprise, our goal is to equip MSMEs with the knowledge and solutions they need to succeed,” said Chet Alviz, Vice President and Head for Enterprise and International Marketing at PLDT Enterprise. “The MSME Day Series is our way of bringing these resources to them, helping businesses make real changes that can drive sustainable growth.”
As PLDT Enterprise wraps up the MSME Day Series for 2024, the initiative has already left a lasting impact. Entrepreneurs across the country have walked away with actionable strategies to optimize their digital marketing, enhance customer engagement, and integrate cloud-based solutions into their operations. The upcoming Pampanga event promises to continue this momentum, offering local businesses a platform for growth, collaboration, and learning.
