ANGELES CITY – The new and modernized ₱400-million Pampang Public Market officially opened on November 29, 2024 by
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. with Senator Imee Marcos as the guest of honor.
The 30,685-sqm. state-of-the-art facility serves as a milestone in the city’s commitment in supporting the livelihood of the local vendors while providing residents with a safe, convenient, and accessible marketplace.
The 3-storey market features a 2,682-sqm dry goods section on the ground floor, alongside a spacious food court.
The second and third floors house steel parking facilities with 251 slots and a dedicated elevator, ensuring accessibility for both vendors and patrons.
A separate wing, with 50 stalls, caters to carinderias, transforming the market into a commercial hub.
“This new Pampang Public Market is not just a building; it’s a symbol of our dedication to uplifting our local vendors and ensuring that Angeles City remains a hub of trade and commerce,” Mayor Lazatin said.
The project, completed in 588 calendar days, replaces the original market, which was destroyed by a fire in 2020.
Mayor Lazatin meanwhile thanked Senator Marcos for her unwavering support to Angeles City.
“Senator Marcos has been a steadfast partner in Angeles City’s progress. Her contributions, including the ₱20 million she facilitated for the repair of the old Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center, demonstrate her commitment to public service and community development,” Mayor Lazatin said.
Joining the inauguration are First District Rep. Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II, Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting and the City Councilors; Barangay Pampang Captain Carlos Dela Cruz and Council; Barangay Lourdes Northwest Captain Nicanor Soriano and Council; and Barangay Sta. Teresita Captain Joel Sanchez and Council; and the market vendors.
