ANGELES CITY – “This is a testament to the exceptional talent and dedication of our youth.”
Thus, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. hailed the outstanding performances of city school students earning top honors at the Sinukwan Festival 2024 held in the City of San Fernando on Nov. 30.
The Angeles City National Trade School (ACNTS) emerged as the Overall Champion in the Secondary Level category, sweeping champion awards for Free Interpretation, Street Dance, Costume, and Headdress under the artistic direction and choreography of Jeremy Bognot.
“The students of ACNTS have not only brought honor to our city but also showcased the beauty of our Kapampangan culture on a grand stage,” enthused Lazatin.
Gueco Balibago Elementary School (GBES) earned 2nd Place in Free Interpretation and Best in Costume and 3rd Place in Street Dance.
Cutud Elementary School stood out in the Level 1 category, winning Best in Headdress and Street Dance, and 3rd Place in Free Interpretation Dance Competition.
“These victories reflect the hard work of our students, teachers, and their communities,” the mayor added. “Their dedication inspires us to continue supporting programs that develop their talents and foster cultural pride.”
Part of the flagship programs of Mayor Lazatin since he took office in 2019 is youth development, supporting programs and activities to uplift their skills and also providing an avenue in showcasing their talents such as the city’s very own grandest Kambal Festival street dance competition.
