CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sta. Rita emerged as the champion of the Grand Pampanga Inter-Town Zumba Contest held on Friday, December 6, outshining 20 other LGUs in the competition.
The event, which is part of the weeklong celebration of the 453rd Aldo Ning Kapampangan, saw the participation of more than 700 individuals this year.
Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led an energetic Zumba dance during the program’s intermission, joined by Board Member Ananias Canlas Jr., the Executive Committee of Aldo Ning Kapampangan 2024, and Board Member Fritzie David-Dizon.
Following Sta. Rita’s victory, the municipality of Mexico claimed 1st Runner-Up, while Lubao, Floridablanca, and Minalin placed 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively.
“Masaya kami na muling naibalik itong zumba. Kapag tumatanda talaga kailangan ng katawan ng exercise pampawala ng stress hindi lang puro gawaing bahay,” shared 70-year-old participant Mila Canlas.
All winners received trophies and cash prizes.
Other activities lined up for the Aldo Ning Kapampangan weeklong celebration include the Christmas Chorale Competition (December 9), the Coronation of Mutya Ning Kapampangan 2024 (December 10), the Most Outstanding Kapampangan Awards (MOKA) Night (December 11), and the 4×4 Off-Road Competition (December 14–15).
