Mayor Lazatin welcomes Papal Nuncio in Angeles City; gives symbolic key

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has led his constituents in welcoming Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines Charles John Brown.

Brown visited Angeles on Saturday, December 8, for the Solemn Dedication of the Holy Rosary Parish Church and altar.

During the visit, the mayor presented the symbolic “Key to the City” to Brown in a gesture of honor and trust, the City Information Office (CIO) said.

“The tradition of giving a key dates back to medieval times, symbolizing the city’s guardians granting esteemed individuals access and authority by unlocking the city’s gates,” it said.

“This gesture reflects Angeles City’s deep respect and warm welcome for the Papal representative,” the CIO added.
