Angeles City LGU to save millions on power bills with solar panels at City Hall, CCA

The Angeles City government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., could save millions on electric bills as the installation of solar panels at the City Hall and the City College of Angeles (CCA) is now in full swing.

The mayor said the solar panels will allow for a more prudent use of electricity since all government offices will make maximum use of solar power or the sunlight being converted into electricity.

“This initiative will not only help save millions on electric bills but also allow the savings to be redirected into social services, benefiting the community even further,” the City Information Office (CIO) said.

It said the city government could save P100 million in electricity expenses a year.

“This will prove to be cost-efficient and allow the use of alternative power other than fossil fuel, which powers most electric plants. With the project, Angeles City is one of the few Local Government Units to use solar energy as sustainable power,” the CIO said.
