6 weeks to end of mayorship, Pogi delivers 6th Puso Center

ANGELES CITY — With barely six weeks remaining in his term, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. continues to fulfill his commitment to bring health services closer to every Angeleño, formally opening in Barangay Anunas on May 21 the 6th Puso Center Primary Care Facility in the city.

“Even as my term comes to a close, my commitment to the health and well-being of every Angeleño remains unwavering. Bringing essential services closer to our communities is not just a promise — it is a responsibility I proudly carry until the very last day,” Lazatin said.

Out of the nine primary care facilities promised in his State of the City Address in June 2024, five more have already been completed and inaugurated in Barangays Pulungbulu, Tabun, Pulung Maragul, Cutud, and Malabanias.

One more facility in Barangay Amsic is set to open on May 22, while the remaining two in Barangays Capaya and Balibago are scheduled for inauguration soon.

From only six rural health units when he took office in 2019 — located in Barangays Pandan, Sto. Domingo, Lourdes Sur East, Lourdes Northwest, Pulung Cacutud, and Balibago — Angeles City will now have 15 primary care facilities upon the completion of the three remaining centers.

The newly opened facility features a dental clinic, consultation and laboratory rooms, a physician’s office, pantry, storage space, and a pharmacy stocked with essential medicines, ensuring more accessible and comprehensive health services for Angeleños.

The city government also hired additional doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and dental aides to enhance the efficiency and quality of health services offered to Angeleños.

Joining Mayor Lazatin in the inauguration were Councilors JC Parker-Aguas and Marino “Niknok” Bañola, along with city government department heads and chiefs of offices.
