Cong Pogi launches ‘Lamok Tepok Busters’ anti-dengue drive

ANGELES CITY — A dengue prevention program dubbed “Lamok Tepok Busters” was launched here by Pampanga 1st District Rep. Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on Aug. 14 to help local government units in their respective anti-dengue campaigns.
“Ngayong dumarami ang dengue cases, priority po natin ang safety ng mga bata. Kaya nag-desisyon tayong makipag-tulungan sa mga barangay ng Unang Distrito para sa dengue prevention,” said Lazatin.
Under the program, two “Lamok Tepok Busters” vehicles will roam the barangays of Angeles City, Mabalacat City, and Magalang Municipality to conduct anti-dengue fogging and misting operations.
“Hinihikayat din po natin ang mga mamamayan ng Unang Distrito na makiisa sa ating anti-dengue drive sa pamamagitan ng regular na paglilinis ng ating paligid,” Lazatin added.
The program is patterned after the regular fumigation operations implemented by Lazatin in Angeles City during his time as city mayor, wherein members of the Angeles City Barangay Outreach Team visited barangays and public schools in the city to carry out fogging operations to kill dengue-carrying mosquitoes.
Lazatin is also encouraging residents to following the ‘4S’ Strategy for dengue prevention – search and destroy, self-protection measures, seek early consultation, and say ‘yes’ to fogging in case of outbreak. Team Lazatin/Photo: artist render of of ‘Lamok Tepok’ vehicle
