After the global Covid pandemic, local travel and tour industry has been getting back on its feet even as more firms are opening to serve the rising number of travelers and tourists.
“The travel industry is recovering,” said Joel Sarmiento, President of the Alliance of Travel and Tour Agencies of Pampanga (ATTAP).
He was guest in News@Hues, a media forum of the Pampanga Press Club in cooperation with Park Inn by Radisson Clark. He was joined in the discussions by Lalaine Medrano, Branch Manager of Philippine Airlines (PAL) in Angeles City and Keesha Del Rosario, PAL Account Executive Territory Sales for Central Luzon.
ATTAP is the foremost association of travel and tour operators in Pampanga. It has 57 members.
He noted that there has been “revenge travel” in 2023 and 2024. This, however, has led to a competition in the tour and travel industry.
“Medyo naging mas mahirap dahil medyo dumami ang mga travel agencies after the pandemic. There are a lot (of people) now who are looking into the potentials of the business,” he added.
“For PAL po, kahit papano ay nakakabawi naman po yung travel industry kaya din po kami naglalabas ng mga promo,” said Medrano.
PAL has launched its so-called ultimate seat sale across its international and domestic destinations
The 2025 Ultimate Seat Sale, happening until August 31, 2025, rewards value-conscious travelers and meticulous planners with PAL’s biggest, most value-packed fares of the year.
Travelers not only save on ticket prices, with international flights going for as low as $59 (roundtrip economy base fare) and domestic flights starting at ₱189 (one-way economy base fare) but also gain access to superior comfort, added amenities, and thoughtful service.
At Clark International Airport (CRK), there has also been a reported increase not just in passenger air traffic movements but also in cargo.
The Royal Air Philippines has recently launched its Clark-Nanning (China)-Clark flights. This service aims to strengthen regional trade links and support the continued growth of logistics operations at Clark.
This addition is a significant milestone in enhancing cargo connectivity through CRK.
