Aurora gov’t gets provincial champion award for sustainable solid waste management

The Aurora province has been recognized as a “provincial champion” for sustainable ecological solid waste management in the recent Environmental Summit 2025.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) Central Luzon handed the award during the event, with the theme “Ending Global Plastic Pollution,” on August 28-29 at Widus Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

Manny Dela Peña ng ENRO-Environment Management Division, representing ENR Officer Ma. Teresa P. De Luna, received the plaque of recognition.

“Isang karangalan din para sa Aurora ang mapabilang sa mga piling exhibitors sa nasabing summit na itinuturing na pagkilala sa mga LGUs sa Gitnang Luzon na nangunguna sa pagpapatupad ng best ecological solid waste management practices at nagsisilbing huwaran sa buhong rehiyon,” the provincial government said.
