Mayor Lazatin declares half-day gov’t work, class suspension in Angeles City on Sept. 8

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II has issued an executive order suspending the government work and school classes in all levels, both in public and private, starting 12 noon on September 8, in observance of the 69th Canonical Coronation of Virgen Delos Remedios.

Under EO No. 013, dated September 3, the mayor noted the activity is a significant religious event for Angeleños.

“The Office of the Mayor recognizes the importance of allowing residents, students, and government employees to participate in and observe religious activities and familial rites associated with this occasion, without compromising public safety and essential services,” the EO read.

The mayor directed local authorities to ensure that emergency services and essential utilities remain operational.
