The Angeles City government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, has provided temporary work for the students.
The implementation of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) was undertaken through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (PESO).
The City Information Office (CIO) said 123 student beneficiaries were employed for 22 working days. They would gain work experience while earning income to help support their education, it said.
“This initiative reflects the city’s ongoing commitment to providing meaningful opportunities that nurture both professional growth and financial stability among young Angeleños,” the CiO said.
This year, the Angeles City local government partnered with private establishments, such as National Bookstore and McDonald’s, to implement the program.
