Dee commends BFP Personnel for bravery

MABALACAT CITY – Councilor Timothy Dee, in a privilege speech delivered before the Sangguninang Panlungsod on Jan. 22, commended personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Mabalacat City Fire Station for their extraordinary bravery and professionalism in a recent lifesaving operation in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City.

Dee recognized the BFP personnel’s heroic act in responding to a highly dangerous incident involving a male individual armed with improvised weapons, who had climbed onto the rooftop of a two-storey apartment building, putting himself and others at risk.

He said that what could have easily turned into a tragedy instead became a story of discipline, patience, and heroism.

“Hindi po sila umatras sa panganib. Sa halip, pinili nilang isugal ang sariling kaligtasan upang mailigtas ang kapwa.
Ito ang tunay na diwa ng paglilingkod — “Serbisyo bago ang sarili,” Dee said.

Dee specifically commended FO1 Justin Vanne Y. Aguinaldo, FO1 Minard P. Tawatao, FO1 Marvyn L. Reyes, FO1 Sherwin L. Ignacio, and other PNP personnel who successfully subdued the individual, preventing harm to himself and others.

“This incident reminds us that the Bureau of Fire Protection is not only about putting out fires. They are trained lifesavers, negotiators, rescuers, and protectors of peace in moments when lives hang in the balance,” Dee emphasized.

He also said that because of their coordinated efforts with the Philippine National Police, no life was lost, no civilian was harmed, and order was restored.

“Sa mga oras na may kaguluhan at panganib, nariyan ang BFP, tahimik ngunit matatag, handang magsakripisyo para sa sambayanan.
Hindi lang sila bumbero, sila ay mga bayani ng ating komunidad,” Dee said.

Dee is filing a resolution recognizing the BFP and PNP Mabalacat City for their courage, professionalism, and exemplary public service, inspiring others to act with duty, compassion, and love for the people.
