ANGELES CITY — Pampanga 1st District coaches and athletes who achieved podium finish at the 2026 Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) Meet held from April 6 to 13, in Aurora Province will receive cash incentives from Rep. Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.
“Binabati ko ang ating mga atleta mula sa Lungsod ng Angeles, Lungsod ng Mabalacat, at Bayan ng Magalang na nagpamalas ng kanilang galing sa nakalipas na CLRAA Meet,” hailed Lazatin.
“Ipinakita nila ang galing ng mga Kapampangan sa buong rehiyon, at nararapat lang na bigyan natin sila ng incentive para sa kanilang nakamit na karangalan,” he enthused. The incentive is taken from his own salary.
Twenty-eight athletes, who bagged gold medals, will receive P2,000 each. While 26 athletes, who bagged silver medals, will receive P1,500 each; and 47 athletes, who bagged bronze medals, will receive P1,000 each – a total of P142,000 cash incentives.
Out of this number, 57 medals were earned by Angeles City athletes – 17 gold, 18 silver, and 22 bronze. Mabalacat City athletes snagged 59 medals – 11 gold, six silver, and 25 bronze. Magalang athletes won two silver medals.
Twenty-six coaches of the winning athletes are also set to receive P1,500 each.
Lazatin has consistently shown support for young Kapampangan athletes.
During his incumbency as city mayor, the Angeles LGU provided complete uniform kits to all the Angeleño athletes who participated in the CLRAA Meet. The uniform kits included shoes, uniforms, joggers, parade polo shirts, hoodies, caps, bags, and travel mattresses.
Then Mayor Lazatin also made time to visit the athletes in Tarlac City, where the meet was being held, to treat the athletes to hotdogs and ice cream to show his support and boost the athletes’ morale.
The CLRAA Meet is an annual sports event where young athletes from all over Region III compete in various sports competitions. Winners in the CLRAA events go on to represent the region in the national Palarong Pambansa. Team Lazatin Media
