144-km North-South Commuter Railway, target matapos sa 2032: DOTr

Aarangkada na raw ang konstruksyon ng North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR), ayon sa Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Sa pagbisita ni Transportation Sec. Giovanni Lopez sa Angeles City, Pampanga nitong Miyerkules, May 20, sinabi nitong target nilang matapos ang buong 144-kilometer stretch ng proyekto mula Calamba, Laguna hanggang Clark sa 2032.

Nakatakda naman umanong makumpleto ang bahagi ng Valenzuela to Malolos City, Bulacan sa susunod na taon. Sa kasalukuyan ay nasa 90% na rin ang Right-of-Way (ROW) acquisition ng proyekto sa Angeles City.

Batay sa pag-aaral ng Asian Development Bank (ADB), mula sa mahigit apat na oras ay magiging halos dalawang oras na lang ang byahe mula Clark International Airport hanggang Calamba sa oras na maging operational ang proyekto.

Ayon pa sa ADB, posibleng umabot sa higit 600,000 na pasahero araw-araw ang makikinabang sa nasabing tren pagdating ng taong 2040.

Nagkakahalaga ng $15.42 billion o ₱873.62 billion ang NSCR na pinopondohan ng National Government sa tulong ng ADB at Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). #
