The Pampanga government, under the leadership of Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, has continued to extend assistance to the families of those who perished in the building collapse in Angeles City.
The Provincial Information Office (PIO) said Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) head Fe Manarang handed over a check worth P60,000 to Jessa Abayun for the deaths of her three relatives.
Abayun’s sibling, an 11-year-old nephew, and an 11-month-old niece died when a nine-story building under construction collapsed in Angeles City on May 24.
“Bukod sa tulong pinansyal, nagkaloob din ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng mga food packs upang makatulong sa kanilang pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan habang unti-unting bumabangon mula sa sinapit na trahedya,” the PIO said.
Based on the PSWDO data, the provincial government has so far assisted 23 victims following the tragedy.
Some 30 people died from the incident as search, retrieval, and clearing operations continue.
