CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A total of P11.6 million in financial assistance from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s “Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” Program was doled out to 58 barangays from five municipalities in Pampanga on June 22.
Part of the P101-million Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) turned over by the president to the Province of Pampanga during his visit on May 14, the assistance was personally distributed by Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Vice Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda, and members of the sangguniang panlalawigan to the beneficiary barangays in ceremonies held at the Capitol Grounds.

“Ibinigay ito ng ating Pangulong Marcos, kung saan tig-P200,000 ang inilaan para sa 505 barangay. Malaking bagay ang tulong na ito para sa ating mga barangay upang magkaroon sila ng magagamit sa kanilang mga pangangailangan,” said Gov. Nanay.
The first batch of beneficiary barangays came from the municipalities of Sta. Rita with 10 barangays, Sta. Ana with 14 barangays, Apalit with 12 barangays, Minalin with 15 barangays, and Santo Tomas with seven barangays.

Of the P200,000 received by each barangay, P100,000 will be allocated as educational assistance for five college student scholars, with each student receiving P20,000 to help support the continuation of their studies.
The remaining P100,000 will be used for the identified development projects of the barangays, which may include the purchase of additional CCTV cameras, monoblock chairs and tent, industrial fans, patrol vehicles, post lights, office supplies, and other equipment needed to improve barangay operations and public service delivery.

“Ito po ay malaking tulong po sa aming mga kabarangay lalo na sa mga kapos palad na gustong makatapos,” said chairman Primo Fabian of Barangay Lourdes, Minalin.
Governor Pineda assured that the funds will undergo proper audit procedures to ensure transparency and accountability, and to make certain that the assistance will be used for its intended projects. Pampanga PIO/Photos: Daniel Ombina
