The Pampanga government, together with the concerned national government agencies, has deployed backhoes to conduct clearing operations in Sto. Cristo Dam in Lubao town.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the National Irrigation Administration, and the Department of Public Works and Highways dispatched the three long-arm backhoes to remove the forest and agricultural debris that piled up in the dam.
A portion of the dam’s retaining wall and slope protection was damaged following the strong current due to heavy rains in the past few days.
The dam is located between Barangay Sto. Cristo and Barangay Sta. Rita.
