GCash and healthcare provider KwikCare have partnered to offer health maintenance organization (HMO) coverage through the GCash app, with plans starting at ₱995 per month.
The service is available through GCash’s in-app insurance platform, GInsure, allowing users to enroll in a monthly HMO plan without a large upfront payment or long-term commitment.
The plans cover inpatient, outpatient, emergency and laboratory services and provide cashless access to more than 2,000 accredited healthcare providers nationwide.
Depending on the plan, members may receive benefits of up to ₱350,000, along with personal accident coverage of up to ₱1 million. Users may also add family members to their coverage.
GCash and KwikCare said the partnership is aimed at expanding access to healthcare, particularly for workers who do not receive traditional corporate HMO benefits, including micro, small and medium enterprise workers, freelancers and part-time earners.
Winsley Bangit, group head of New Business at Mynt, the parent company of GCash, said the service is intended to help Filipinos manage medical expenses while maintaining financial stability.
“Filipinos deserve the peace of mind that comes with reliable health coverage,” Bangit said.
KwikCare Chief Executive Officer Hamilton Angluben said offering HMO coverage through a widely used digital platform could help make healthcare more accessible.
“Our mission has always been to make quality healthcare more accessible to every Filipino,” Angluben said.
To enroll, GCash users can open the app, select “Explore the App,” choose “GInsure,” and tap the “HMO” icon.
After enrollment, users will receive their login credentials through their registered email address and mobile number within 15 days.
Once the plan becomes active, members can download the Amaphil app, available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, to access healthcare services, including consultations, letters of authorization and information on partner hospitals.
Monthly premiums and other account management functions can continue to be accessed through the GCash app’s My GInsure section.
