GCash has introduced GSukli, a new feature that allows customers paying in cash to receive their change directly into their GCash wallets for free.
The service is designed to provide an alternative to receiving loose coins or “barya” during everyday purchases, allowing customers to use their change for digital transactions such as paying bills, buying mobile load, transferring money and shopping online.
GSukli is currently available at all Bench branches nationwide, with other Suyen Corporation brands expected to offer the service soon.
Under the system, customers making cash purchases with change of up to P199.99 can provide their registered GCash mobile number to the cashier. The corresponding change will then be credited directly to their GCash wallet, with an SMS notification sent once the transaction is completed.
Barbie Dapul, G-Xchange Inc. chief operating officer and general manager for consumer business, said the feature is intended to make small amounts of money more accessible and help consumers transition between cash and digital transactions.
“Small amounts can go a long way when made easily accessible,” Dapul said, adding that GSukli reflects GCash’s effort to provide practical and inclusive financial tools.
Bench Vice President for Business Development Bryan C. Lim said the partnership with GCash aims to make customers’ checkout experience more convenient while giving them another option for using their change.
For customers using GSukli, the process involves providing their registered GCash mobile number to the cashier, receiving the change in their GCash wallet for amounts up to P199.99, and checking their SMS for confirmation of the transfer.
