GCash opens stock market investing to Filipinos for as low as ₱500

GCash has expanded access to stock market investing through its in-app trading platform, GStocks PH, allowing Filipinos to invest in shares of publicly listed companies for as little as ₱500.

The platform, powered by AB Capital Securities, Inc. (ABSCI), now has more than 2 million users, which GCash said represents over 50 percent of all online retail stock market accounts with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).

According to GCash, GStocks PH enables users to trade shares of more than 280 listed companies directly within the GCash app without requiring a traditional bank account. Eligible users need only a fully verified GCash account, a valid government-issued ID, and an email address to register.

Darvin Sy Su, GCash General Manager for Wealth Management, said the company aims to make investing more accessible to ordinary Filipinos.
“The transition of GCash from an everyday payments app into the platform of choice for retail investors is part of our commitment to empowering every Filipino with accessible and secure ways to achieve long-term financial security,” Su said.

Beyond stock trading, GCash said it is strengthening financial literacy by offering curated investment lists, educational resources, and Pera Coach, its AI-powered financial assistant, to help users make informed investment decisions.

The platform also allows users to transfer funds instantly from their GCash wallet to their trading account at no transfer cost and participate in initial public offerings (IPOs) through the app.
GCash said the initiative is intended to reduce traditional barriers to stock market participation by providing a fully digital and accessible investing experience.
