The MPTC Tour of Luzon returns in grand fashion as leaders from sports, business, and media gather at the Lighthouse, Meralco Compound to officially launch MPTC Tour of Luzon 2026: Heritage in Motion, powered by Cignal.

The event marks a bold new chapter for the country’s premier cycling race and reinforces its mission to unite communities while elevating Philippine cycling onto the global stage. As organizers declared, “Heritage in Motion is about bringing the race closer to every Filipino community.”

The program opens with welcome remarks from Arrey A. Perez, Chief Organizer and CEO of the 2026 Local Organizing Committee, who outlines the vision of bringing the race closer to communities nationwide. In a significant announcement, Perez reveals ongoing relationship-building efforts between the MPTC Tour of Luzon and La Vuelta a España through Unipublic. Perez emphasized, “Forging an exciting relationship with La Vuelta a España opens global opportunities for Philippine cycling.”

Representing Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, President and CEO Gilbert F. Sta. Maria highlights the company’s steadfast commitment to nation-building through sports and underscores MPTC’s continuing support for initiatives that inspire excellence and unity among Filipinos. He affirmed, “Tutulong kami from MPTC as we bring the Tour of Luzon and Philippine sports further onto the map in Asia and the globe.”

The energy in the room rises with a special screening of the 2025 documentary film, which showcases the rich legacy of the previous Tour and its powerful impact on Filipino athletes and fans, setting the tone for another historic edition. As one segment of the film declares, “The Great Revival was only the beginning.”

An inspiring message from Manuel V. Pangilinan, Chairman of the MVP Group of Companies and Chairman of the TOL 2026 Local Organizing Committee, follows, expressing unity and pride as the Tour enters a new era. He announces that this year’s pot of glory will double from last year’s edition and reiterates his continued support for cycling and Philippine sports. Pangilinan proudly states, “We double the pot of glory this year because our athletes deserve a stage worthy of their talent.”

Managuelod, Institute Director of the Philippine Sports Institute, introduces the High Performance Team, reinforcing athlete support systems and advancing performance development for the race.

The MPTC Tour of Luzon 2026: Heritage in Motion is scheduled as a 14-stage international race from April 29 to May 13, 2026, promising high-speed battles, strategic teamwork, and unforgettable moments on Philippine roads, as officially announced during the media question-and-answer session.
