MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Ten of Pampanga’s 21 localities are now COVID-19-free, the provincial epidemiology and surveillance unit (PESU) disclosed on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
The towns with zero active COVID-19 cases were Magalang, Floridablanca, Porac, Sasmuan, Bacolor, Apalit, Candaba, Macabebe, Masantol, and Santo Tomas, the PESU said in its latest bulletin.
San Luis town was free of COVID-19 until it recorded a single new case on Dec. 7.
The other towns with a single active case are Lubao, Sta. Rita, Sta. Ana, and Minalin.
As of Monday, Guagua has the most active cases at eight, followed by Mabalacat City at four, and Mexico and the City of San Fernando at three each.
Pampanga recorded zero new cases, two recoveries, and no deaths on the same day.
Since last year, the province has registered 46,579 COVID-19 cases. Of these, 44,071 have recovered, while 2,481 have died.
Angeles City, a highly urbanized locality, registered zero new cases, a single recovery, and no deaths on Tuesday. Seven patients are still battling the virus.
Five of its 33 villages have active COVID-19 cases.
Since the pandemic struck last year, the city had registered 12,549 cases, of which 12,023 had recovered while 519 had died.
