Four Kapampangan fashion designers have been included in the Top 100 Living Filipino Fashion Designers, an editorial ranking posted by Pinoy History that recognizes their contributions to Philippine fashion.
The designers are Patis Tesoro, who ranked 8th in the list; Mak Tumang, 10th; Ditta Sandico, 28th; and Marlon Tuazon, 54th.
Tesoro is known for championing traditional Filipino fashion, particularly Filipiniana and the use of piña and other indigenous textiles.
Tumang gained international recognition for his elaborate couture creations, including the “lava gown” worn by Catriona Gray during her Miss Universe 2018 campaign.
Sandico is recognized for incorporating indigenous Philippine textiles and natural fibers into contemporary designs while promoting local weaving traditions.
Tuazon is known for his modern interpretations of the traditional terno and his achievements in Filipino couture, including winning two gold awards at the 2018 BENCH TernoCon competition.
The ranking considers design excellence, originality, craftsmanship, cultural influence, professional achievements, international recognition, and contributions to the fashion industry.
Pinoy History clarified that the list is an editorial selection, not an official industry poll or a definitive judgment of talent.
