CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Emergency cash assistance of P5,400 each was doled out to 4,445 farmers and fisherfolk in Pampanga by the Department of Social Welfare and Development to help ease the impact of flooding on their livelihoods.
Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda led the distribution of assistance to beneficiaries from the municipalities of Lubao, Guagua, and Magalang, and the city of Mabalacat.

The emergency cash transfer aims to help affected beneficiaries address their immediate household needs while recovering from livelihood losses and disruptions caused by flooding.
For farmers and fisherfolk whose income depends on agricultural production and fishing activities, the cash aid provides additional resources as they work to restore their livelihoods and resume their sources of income.

“Lubhang naapektuhan po ang kabuhayan namin, kaya naman po sa pagbangon namin, nagpapasalamat po kami sa gobyerno sa pagtulong ninyo,” said Maylin Nuguid, a fish farm worker from Barangay Bangcal Pugad, Lubao.
Through the continuing implementation of emergency cash assistance, the government seeks to help affected farmers and fisherfolk in Pampanga recover from the effects of flooding and gradually rebuild their sources of livelihood.
