Meanwhile, regular declogging and desilting operation are being undertaken by the EMS-CEO, along with drainage improvement projects to minimize flooding in the city.
As flood-mitigation interventions are being conducted, Lazatin is appealing to the public to do their part in the proper waste management towards the effective function of drainage system.
“Nakikiusap din po ako na iwasan po natin magtapon ng basura sa mga kanal o saan man, ilagay po natin sa tamang tapunan ang ating mga basura para hindi bumara sa mga kanal natin,” the mayor said.
One of the cornerstone programs of the Lazatin administration is to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness throughout the city.
The mayor also requested to the DPWH that all ongoing constructions in the city will be done during nighttime to avoid traffic jams, citing that on the Sto. Cristo Flyover, and drainage along Sto. Entierro.
