MEXICO, Pampanga – At least 80 pollution control officer (PCO) trainees of Alab Solutions Inc. visited Soliman EC’s treatment plant in Barangay Eden here on Feb. 12.

The Alab PCO Training Tour is a professional program providing PCOs actual exposure to treatment facilities and best practices in environmental management.

The 40-hour Alab training highlights the collaborative efforts of the private sector, environmental professionals, and regulators in promoting responsible and compliant environmental operations.

Soliman EC’s PCO Engr. Christian Joseph Bacani said the trainees’ first-hand observation of wastewater and hazardous waste treatment and disposal operations at their plant is an effective strategy for learning.

As part of its commitment to innovation and sustainability, Soliman EC, in partnership with Groon, showcased the Groon Oxidation Technology, a Korean-developed solution that utilizes low-temperature plasma to effectively treat domestic and high-concentration industrial wastewater. The system enables efficient contaminant degradation with stable operations while offering lower facility and maintenance costs compared to other advanced treatment technologies.

Soliman EC aims to introduce and deploy this technology to help address wastewater treatment challenges in the Philippines.
Groon executives and technology inventors Dr. Lee Inho and Dr. Hong Youngpyo joined the activity and introduced the system to the PCO trainees, sharing insights on its development and applications.
Engr. Bacani said Soliman EC is currently the leading service provider for septage management and wastewater treatment in Central Luzon.

He emphasized that Soliman EC strives to be the lead in the industry by constantly providing globally competitive, accessible and innovative services. Press release
