The Angeles City government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, has received two awards for its sustained commitment to advancing child-friendly local governance and protecting the welfare of the Angeleño children.
In the recent 2025 Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities (PACFMC) ceremony, Angeles City was recognized as a National Finalist. It was also declared Regional Winner for its effective institutionalization of child-centered policies, programs, and services.
The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), led by Secretary Rex Gatchalian, conferred the plaques of recognition.
Under Lazatin’s leadership, the local government vowed to further strengthen initiatives that uphold children’s rights through responsive social services, multi-sectoral collaboration, and community-based interventions.
“The dual recognition further highlights Angeles City’s unwavering dedication to promoting the welfare, protection, and holistic development of children, reinforcing its standing as a model local government unit committed to building a truly child-friendly and inclusive community for all Angeleños,” the city government said.
