The Angeles City government, led by Mayor Jon Lazatin, has celebrated Family Week with the introduction of the Kiddielympics: a fun fusion of traditional Filipino games.
“This timeless, uplifting activity promotes peace, harmony, goodwill, and camaraderie among families. In today’s digital age, outdoor traditional games offer children valuable learning experiences beyond screens, encouraging independent thinking, teamwork, and strategic planning, while building social skills and positive character,” the City Information Office (CIO) said.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) spearheaded the activity on September 25.
“The activities support physical, mental, emotional, social, and moral well-being and help strengthen family bonds and community spirit,” the CIO added.
The observance of Family Week, which is being held every last week of September, is in accordance with Proclamation No. 60 issued in 1992.
This year’s theme is: “Pamilyang Pilipino: Matatag sa Pagbabago at Hamon ng Panahon.”
