The Angeles City government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, has prepared modular tents, which could be used in evacuation centers amid the threat of Typhoon “Uwan.”
The City Information Office (CIO) said the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has readied the tents for immediate deployment.
“This preparation ensures that safe and organized temporary shelter arrangements are available for families who may need to evacuate,” it said.
The local government assured that it continues to prioritize public safety, community preparedness, and coordinated response in times of calamities.
The national government has directed local government units and other concerned agencies to conduct preemptive evacuation until noon on Sunday, November 9, in areas to be hit by Uwan.
The state weather forecasting agency said the typhoon could make landfall over the southern portion of Isabela or the northern portion of Aurora late Sunday evening or early Monday morning.
