The local government of San Fernando City, Pampanga, under the leadership of Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag, has extended support to Fernandino chess players.
Phoebie Angel Arellano, Vince Albert Arellano, Mikhaela Salvo, and Lira Placer, members of the Adamson University chess team, visited Caluag again at her office on Tuesday, January 14.
The players thanked the mayor for the initial help as they sought additional support from the city government, the City Information Office (CIO) said.
The four students won medals for Adamson during the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 87.
“Sa gabay ni City Local Youth Development Officer Kim John Sagun, nagbigay ng suporta ang lokal na pamahalaan para suportahan ang iba pa nilang aktibidad bilang mga chess players,” the CIO said.
