The local government of San Fernando City, Pampanga, under the leadership of Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag, has kicked off the activities for the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2024 this July.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) led the celebration through a citywide grand motorcade on Monday, July 1.
CDRRM Officer Raymond Del Rosario represented Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag in the opening ceremony.
In his message, Del Rosario cited the yearly active participation of the city in the NDRM.
He underscored the continuous efforts of the local government to improve its readiness and preparedness for disasters.
Executive Order No. 29, issued on June 28, 2017, provided that the NDRM shall be observed every July by all Filipinos through the conduct of activities relative to building disaster resilience covering the four thematic areas of disasters, namely, disaster prevention and mitigation, disaster preparedness, disaster response, and disaster rehabilitation and recovery.
