Caluag admin welcomes Vietnamese officials in San Fernando City for environmental, tourism benchmarking activity

The local government of San Fernando City, Pampanga, under the leadership of Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag, has welcomed officials from Tuy Hòa, Phú Yên, Vietnam for a benchmarking activity on environmental management and tourism programs.

The City Information Office (CIO) said the delegates, in their visit recently, observed the operations of the city’s materials recovery facilities, particularly the ones in Barangay Lara, Maimpis, and Pilar Village in San Isidro, as facilitated by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO).

CENRO personnel led by Maria Teresa Doble showcased the city’s actual zero waste program implementation—including waste segregation, collection, and diversion.

“Also witnessing this were representatives from the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives, Vietnam Zero Waste Alliance, and GreenHub,” the CIO said.

Meanwhile, the City Tourism and Investment Promotions Office welcomed the group to the Giant Lantern and Tourist Information Center.

The visitors were briefed about San Fernando’s lantern tradition and its tourism in general.
