City of San Fernando, Pampanga – A total of 1,620 scholars received ₱4,000 each under the Educational Financial Assistance Program (EFAP) of the Provincial Government of Pampanga (PGP) on Tuesday.
The distribution took place at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center (BZGCC) and was attended by student-beneficiaries from various cities and municipalities across the province.
On behalf of Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Acting Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the event, along with Board Members Benny Jocson, Fritzie David-Dizon, Sajid Khan Eusoof, Nelson Calara, Pol Balingit, Cherry Manalo, Claire Lim, and JC Cruz.
“Atin yamung sisikaswan i gov, pero pasabi na kekayu, magaral kayung masalese at love na kayu, at love na kayu namang Nanay,” said Acting Gov. Nanay.
Board Member Manalo, who is also the Pampanga Councilors League (PCL) president, reiterated in her speech the provincial government’s commitment to supporting the educational needs of students, particularly those from low-income families.
“Deng kayanakan, ila deng pag-asa na ning probinsya. Kanita, bayu ka manikwang scholarship, dapat byasa ka talaga. Pero ngeni, buri na pu ning kekatamung governor, eganaganang anak, atin diploma,” Board Member Manalo said.
One of the student-beneficiaries, 3rd year Accountancy student Jhordean Arguiñoso expressed her gratitude for the support given every semester by the provincial government.
“Thankful po ako sa 4k, kasi malaking tulong po ito sa ‘ming college students. Maraming, maraming salamat po,” she said, as she stressed that the amount received makes a big difference in helping them pursue their education.
The EFAP, managed by the Provincial Library, is a program aimed at assisting Kapampangan students who need financial support for their education.
