CDC leverages Taiwan-Philippines summit for industrial growth opportunities

CLARK FREEPORT — Clark Development Corporation (CDC) will be infusing fresh strategies and partnerships for upbeat industrial development in this zone after participating in the Taiwan-Philippines Industrial Collaboration Summit (ICS) last November 28-30, 2024, in Taipei, Taiwan.

During the business mission, CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, who led the Clark delegation, showcased the robust economic strengths, advantages, and potential of the Clark Freeport Zone.

The CDC chief emphasized the strategic location of Clark in Asia, its proximity to major economic hubs, the availability of a world-class airport, the diversity of satellite businesses, the good air quality, and the presence of a skilled workforce. She also emphasized CDC’s efforts to streamline business permit applications and documentation through the establishment of CDC’s Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS), a facility designed to simplify and expedite these procedures for investors by centralizing services within a single building.

The summit highlighted four key forums: ICT industry applications, innovative technologies like electric mobility, smart industrial park development, and electric vehicle policies and achievements. It also featured a Business Opportunities Matchmaking session. During the trip, the delegation visited three renowned Taiwanese companies including Master Transportation Bus Manufacturing Ltd., AcBel Polytech Inc., and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI).

The ICS is an annual joint conference between the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI), with the Institute for Information Industry (III) and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO).

The 2024 conference featured high-level participation from the government and business sectors, with insightful discussions and exchanges between leading Philippine and Taiwanese governments and industry leaders. This year’s ICS focused on global industrial trends such as electric vehicles, information and communication technologies, semiconductors, smart manufacturing, and smart industrial parks.
