Cong Pogi hails Kapampangan chef for giant sisig feat in Tagaytay

ANGELES CITY – Brimming with memories of the city’s signature giant sisig festival during the incumbency of his father, Mayor Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin, Pampanga 1st District Rep. Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. expressed pride and congratulations to Kapampangan chef Howard Dizon for showcasing a giant plate of authentic Kapampangan sisig during the Annual Communication of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines held in Tagaytay City on April 22-25.

“Binabati ko si Chef Howard, at kanyang mga kasamahan, sa kanilang matagumpay na paghain ng giant sisig sa ANCOM 2026 sa Tagaytay City,” enthused Lazatin. “Dito ay ipinamalas nila Chef Howard ang galing sa pagluluto ng mga Kapampangan, lalo na ang iconic na authentic Kapampangan sisig.”

Howard’s giant sisig was served on a large metal plate, and made out of 600 kilos of pork, 350 kilos of onions, and 60 kilos of chicken liver.

It can be recalled that the first ever giant sisig was served in the Sisig Festival held in Angeles City on May 17, 2003 in Barangay Balibago, during the time of then Mayor Tarzan Lazatin.

Prepared by Hotel and Restaurant Management students from Holy Angel University and the Center for Kapampangan Studies the giant sisig was served on a giant sizzling plate measuring 16×32 feet and ¼ inch thickness. A total of 600 kilos of sisig was served, which fed about 4,000 individuals.

A second two-day Sisig Festival was held on Dec. 10 and 11, 2004 at the Nepo Quadrangle, where 2,400 kilos of sisig was served.

The third Sisig Festival was held in 2005, highlighting “176 Ways to Cook Sisig” in commemoration of the 176th anniversary of Angeles City. Team Lazatin Media
