Cong Pogi inspects recently flooded AC flyover

ANGELES CITY — Following reports of flooding during the recent heavy rains, Pampanga 1st District Rep. Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. inspected the Cutcut Flyover here on Aug. 14, together with Engr. Arnold Ocampo of the DPWH Pampanga 3rd District Engineering Office.

“Ining bayung gawang flyover, atin tamung apansin neng masikan ing uran, ating lumbug. Anya pin pepayaus ke ing kekatamung district engineer nung makananu tayang samasnan ining ditak a lumbug keni pota atin pang maaksidenti kareng kekatamung memalen,” Lazatin said.

The 700-meter long, four-lane Cutcut Flyover was opened to vehicles in August 2024, however, the drainage system in surrounding areas is older.

Amidst the heavy rains in the past weeks, videos circulated on social media showing vehicles wading through at least one-foot-deep water while passing through the flyover.

“Para aiwasan tamu ing kalbug keni, kailangan talang dagul ding drainage at pakisabyan tala ing kekatamung memalen na sana e no manugse dugung basura keng luwal. On the same day, Lazatin also inspected on-going infrastructure works in Barangays Cuayan, Cutcut, Pulungbulu, and Sto. Domingo. He was joined by Cutcut Barangay captain Juanito Dayrit and Political Affairs Assistant I Michael Lising.

It can be recalled that on Aug. 1, Lazatin also met with DPWH Region 3 director Engr. Roseller Tolentino and district engineer Ocampo to discuss potential infrastructure projects in the First District of Pampanga. Team Lazatin PR
