No major brownout for Converge users!
Leading fiber provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. says its services remained stable after a submarine cable disruption between the Philippines and Singapore last Friday — the same break that affected some users trying to access Singapore-based apps and websites.
While some customers reported slow access to SG-hosted sites, Converge said it immediately rerouted traffic to alternative international paths, mostly through its new Bifrost cable system.

“This allowed none to minimal disruption in our services to both our residential and enterprise customers due to the cable issue between Singapore and the Philippines,” said Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy.
According to Uy, Converge was able to recover quickly because it invested early in two new international cables — Bifrost and SEA-H2X — for exactly this kind of emergency.
Bifrost is a 20,000-km trans-Pacific cable linking PH to Singapore, Indonesia, Guam, and the US. Converge owns one fiber pair and is the PH landing party in Davao. Design capacity: 240 Tbps.
SEA-H2X is a 6,000-km cable connecting Hong Kong, Hainan, La Union (PH), Thailand, and Singapore. Design capacity: 200 Tbps.
Uy said with these two, Converge now has one of the most redundant international networks in the country — crucial as demand for AI and cloud services surges.
The company said full rerouting is complete and services are stable while repairs on the affected PH-SG link continue.
