Death toll in Angeles City building collapse rises to 30

Another victim from the collapsed building in Angeles City was recovered, bringing the death toll to 30.

The Angeles City Information Office (CIO) said Casualty No. 30 was retrieved past midnight on Tuesday, June 9.

“Matapos ang maingat at sistematikong retrieval efforts, ito ay na-recover alas-12:16 ng madaling araw at agad na isinailalim sa tamang proseso ng turnover sa Angeles City Health Office (CHO) at Management of the Dead and Missing (MDM) Team alas-12:18 ng madaling araw,” the CIO said.

The nine-story building under construction collapsed before dawn on May 24.

Quoting the Department of Public Works and Highways, the CIO said that 85 percent of the debris had already been cleared.
