CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pampanga, provided immediate assistance to 2,419 farmers from the municipalities of Arayat, Sta. Ana, San Luis, and Mexico under the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).
The distribution was led by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, together with Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda.
“President Marcos has directed me to ensure that our farm workers are cared for and supported,” Secretary Gatchalian said, underscoring the administration’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of agricultural workers.
Through the initiative, each beneficiary received ₱3,000 in financial aid from the DSWD and a food pack from the Provincial Government, aimed at addressing urgent needs and alleviating the financial burden of farm workers.
The AKAP Program is part of DSWD’s continuing efforts to deliver timely assistance to vulnerable sectors, reaffirming the government’s dedication to uplifting the lives of farmers and their families.
Also present during the event were DSWD Regional Director Venus Rebuldela, Nanay Partylist Consultant Jun Canlas, Board Members Fritzie David Dizon, Dra. Kaye Naguit, and Lucky Labung, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Fe Manarang, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist Head Jimmy Manliclic, and Vice Governor’s Chief of Staff Angelina Blanco.
