DTI-3 Equips Halal MSMEs with Digital Marketing and E-Commerce Skills

The Department of Trade and Industry Region 3 (DTI-3) conducted the seminar “Halal Growth Playbook: From Visibility to Sales Online” on June 8, 2026, at the Social Action Center of Pampanga (SACOP), City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The regional activity equipped 23 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Central Luzon with practical knowledge on digital marketing and e-commerce.

The seminar forms part of DTI’s Halal Industry Development and Promotion Project (HIDPP), supporting local enterprises in meeting Halal standards and expanding into new markets. The initiative comes at a time when the global Halal economy is projected to reach approximately US$9.5–10.5 trillion by 2030, while Philippine e-commerce sales grew to around US$20.1 billion in 2023. DTI-3 Regional Director Edna D. Dizon emphasized that the Halal industry now extends beyond food to include cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and tourism, creating significant opportunities for MSMEs to diversify and participate in global value chains.

The seminar was facilitated by Ms. Amrei C. Dizon, Chief Creative Officer of marketing agency Vitalstrats. She guided participants through strategies for increasing online visibility and converting engagement into sales. Sessions in the seminar focused on building brand trust through Halal credentials, selecting appropriate social media and e-commerce platforms, creating compelling digital content, and maximizing customer engagement.

Participants also learned how to establish online stores and marketplace pages, leverage customer reviews and certifications to strengthen credibility, and utilize promotions and partnerships to expand market reach. Practical examples highlighted the importance of prominently displaying Halal certification in digital marketing materials and using data-driven content strategies such as short-form videos to attract consumers.

During the training, participating MSMEs gained a clearer understanding of how digital platforms can help them grow their businesses and access wider markets, especially the growing Halal Market. The participants recognized the value of transparent branding and e-commerce in building consumer confidence and increasing sales opportunities.

DTI-3 underscored that initiatives such as this are essential in enhancing MSME competitiveness and opening new market opportunities across ASEAN and beyond. Through continued capacity-building programs, the agency aims to bridge the gap between Halal certification and market readiness, enabling Central Luzon MSMEs to become more resilient and globally competitive.
