FLORIDABLANCA, Pampanga — The morning air at St. Augustine Academy of Pampanga, Inc. was calm, yet filled with expectation. Students gathered at the gym, some holding rosaries, others holding flowers and banners. It was a familiar tradition for the Augustinian family, but one that never lost its meaning. It was the celebration of the Living Rosary, a yearly reminder of faith, unity, and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Instead of being led by just one group, the praying of the rosary became a shared mission. Students from Grade School, Junior High School, Senior High School, and teachers took turns leading each decade. Their voices rang gently, forming one steady flow of prayer. Every “Hail Mary” seemed to pull the community closer, reminding everyone of what it meant to pray as one family.

But the greatest moments unfolded in silence. For each of the Sorrowful Mysteries, Grade 10 students stepped forward to present tableau scenes; powerful still images portraying the suffering of Christ. Without a word spoken, their expressions, gestures, and frozen poses told stories of sacrifice and love. Some students watching from the crowd bowed their heads, while others watched intently, absorbing the solemnity of the moment.
Between mysteries, the mood softened as Grade 9 students sang familiar Marian songs. Their voices rose and fell like gentle waves, adding warmth to the ceremony. The harmonies turned the school grounds into a place of calm reflection.
But after the final prayer, the atmosphere shifted from solemn to joyful. As the music played, Grade 10 performers returned, this time smiling brightly as they danced “High Five Para Kay Maria.” With every beat, students and teachers waved white and blue banners—symbols of purity, peace, and devotion. Students clapped along, teachers smiled from the sidelines, and the school grounds, which had been silent minutes earlier, burst with energy and celebration. The celebration ended at the inner campus, and doves instead of balloons were released

For the Augustinians, the Living Rosary was not just a program. It was a tradition that united generations of learners through prayer, music, and movement. It was a reminder that faith is not only spoken; it is lived, shared, and expressed with joy.
Each year, the event concludes with hope, gratitude, and a community strengthened by prayer. And this year was no different, only more meaningful, because every student who took part left not only with memories but with a deeper love for Mary, for Christ, and for one another.
