A US-trained Filipino cop has been given a prestigious award for helping solve the murder of a beauty queen and her Israeli boyfriend in Tarlac.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jerrold Jake Manguerra received the prestigious Medalya ng Kadakilaan for his leadership in solving the murder of Pampanga beauty queen Geneva Lopez and her Israeli fiancé Yitshak Cohen.
The award was presented by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III.
Murder charges have been filed against five persons, including two former cops, before the Department of Justice (DOJ) last September.
Manguerra, a native of Pampanga, graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, USA in 2019. He is also an alumnus of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class 2006.
