City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda commended Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials for their commitment to serving as advocates for the youth in their respective barangays.
“Pasalamat kaming Vice Governor Nanay keng serbisyung bibie yu keng barangay. Asahan yu ing suporta na ning provincial government kekayu,” said Gov. Delta.
The statement was made during the briefing titled “Empowering SK Officials for Safe and Secured Communities,” o
“Dapat pane kayung makaadya para mamie serbisyu, at dapat taus keng pusu yu ing pamanyaup yu kareng tau,” Gov. Delta told the SK officials, emphasizing that their responsibilities extend beyond addressing youth concerns to serving the entire community.
According to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the briefing aimed to guide youth leaders in focusing on preventing youth involvement in crime, illegal drugs, and other harmful activities.
During the activity, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda also urged the SK officials to identify indigent youth who aspire to finish their education. She explained that the Guru sa Nayon Program, which employs over a thousand teachers, can assist these individuals through the Alternative Learning System (ALS).
“Pasaup ku kekayu banta lang makapagaral detang anak a kalulu a manintun saup. Paobra ke kekayu yan. Kalupa yu lang kayanakan, dapat dinan talang suporta,” she said.
The briefing also coincided with the distribution of cash assistance, chickens, and hotdogs to 4,989 SK officials. The event was attended by members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Chief and Special Assistant to the Governor Angelina Blanco, and Pampanga DILG Director Myra Moral-Soriano.
