Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has turned over financial assistance to the two children of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who perished in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) flooding.
The Provincial Information Office (PIO) said P300,000 cash assistance was given to Christian, son of OFW Jennie Gambao, a Kapampangan OFW.
The cash aid came from Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
With the governor’s help, the PIO said Christian was accepted as an intern under the Government Internship Program (GIP) of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
Christian would also be allowed to have a permanent job, it added.
Christian’s mother died during the massive flooding in UAE in April.
