Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has led the distribution of assistance to 2,820 Bantay Bayan members from the province’s third district.
Pineda, joined by Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, thanked the town watchers during the recent release of aid under the “Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP)” of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Each member of the Bantay Bayan received P3,000, food packs, maintenance medicines, and hygiene kits, the Provincial Information Office (PIO) said.
“Nanawagan din ang bise gobernador sa mga bantay bayan na makipagtulungan sa mga awtoridad para mabantayan at mapigilan ang pagpasok ng operasyon ng mga illegal na POGO at droga sa lalawigan,” the Provincial Information Office (PIO) said.
Based on the Department of Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) data, there are more than 12,000 Bantay Bayan members in Pampanga.
