Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda has personally checked the situation of the families affected by the collapsed building in Balibago, Angeles City.
Her visit on Tuesday, May 26, became emotional, the Provincial Information Office (PIO) said. Angeles City Mayor Jon Lazatin was also present.
“Personal nilang ipinahatid ang pakikiramay, suporta, at pagdamay sa gitna ng matinding lungkot na pinagdaraanan ng mga pamilya ng mga biktima,” it said.
The provincial government has provided financial assistance, psychosocial support, and other assistance to the victims and their families, while search and retrieval operations have been ongoing in the incident area.
“Nag-alay rin ng taimtim na panalangin at site blessing ang mga opisyal at responders para sa paghilom, lakas, at pag-asa ng lahat ng naapektuhan ng trahedya,” the provincial government said.
At least four people died, and 17 others have been missing when a nine-story building under construction collapsed before dawn on Sunday, May 24, in Angeles City.
