The local government of Calumpit, led by Mayor Lem Faustino, has conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for a relocation site in the municipality.
The construction of Casa El Pueblo will be done in partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) under the El Nuevo De Calumpit Roadmap 2050.
The project will be built on the local government-owned 3-hectare land.
“Ang proyektong ito ay binubuo ng anim na mid-rise buildings na may apat na palapag, na maglalaman ng 648 housing units para sa mga pamilyang maaapektuhan ng North–South Commuter Railway mula sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Bulacan at Pampanga,” Faustino said during the event on Tuesday, April 28.
The community will have a complete structure, with an 850-meter access road that will directly connect to MacArthur Highway, a drainage system, and a sewer treatment facility.
The mayor said each unit will be functional and comfortable, with sufficient ventilation, light, and connection to water and electricity.
“Hindi lang ito simpleng pabahay, ito ay isang planado, inklusibo, at pangmatagalang komunidad na sumasalamin sa layunin ng El Nuevo De Calumpit: isang bayang maayos, ligtas, at may dignidad para sa lahat,” she said.
