Hann Foundation wins big in LCF Medal of Recognition

Hann Foundation, Inc. (HFI) proudly celebrates a landmark achievement after receiving recognition at the 2026 League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) Medal of Recognition, one of the Philippines’ most prestigious awards for outstanding corporate citizenship.

Demonstrating excellence across multiple areas of social development, HFI was recognized in two thematic categories—Education and Environment.

HFI emerged as the national winner in the Environment Category and was also named a finalist in the Education Category, affirming its commitment to creating meaningful, measurable, and sustainable impact in the communities it serves.

A National Recognition for Environmental Leadership

HFI was awarded the 2026 LCF Medal of Recognition – Environment Category for its Sasmuan Mangrove Conservation and Restoration Project, an initiative that exemplifies how environmental protection and community development go hand in hand.

Implemented in partnership with local government agencies and the fisherfolk of Sasmuan, Pampanga, the project focuses on restoring degraded mangrove ecosystems, strengthening coastal resilience against climate change, protecting marine biodiversity, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities.

This project has several components including the establishment of a seedling nursery and bamboo dike, regular mangrove planting activities, and providing the necessary surveying and preservation materials and facilities such as drones, ICT equipment, and motorized boat for the fisherfolk.

The initiative empowers community members to become active stewards of their natural resources, ensuring that conservation efforts translate into improved quality of life for future generations.

Recognized for Advancing Inclusive Education

In the Education Category, HFI was also honored as a finalist for its Alternative Learning System (ALS) Center at Sitio Malasa, Bamban, Tarlac, an initiative that provides accessible and flexible learning opportunities for out-of-school youth, and adult learners who have been left behind by the formal education system.

The ALS Center reflects the foundation’s belief that education is a powerful catalyst for personal transformation and social development. By providing a safe and supportive learning environment, the program helps learners complete their basic education and enhance their employability to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

This highlights HFI’s continuing commitment to ensuring that quality education is accessible to all, regardless of age, circumstance, or socio-economic background.

Celebrating Purpose-Driven Corporate Citizenship

The League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) is the country’s premier association of corporate and family foundations committed to advancing social responsibility and sustainable development. Through its annual Medal of Recognition, LCF honors exemplary CSR initiatives that demonstrate innovation, measurable impact, and meaningful contributions to nation-building.

Representing HFI during the awarding ceremony were Mirasol M. Simon, Foundation Administration Manager, and Mr. Ronnel T. Golimlim, Foundation Manager.

“These recognitions belong not only to Hann Foundation but to every community, volunteer, partner organization, local government unit, and stakeholder who believed that lasting change is possible through collaboration. Our Environment Award affirms that protecting nature is also about protecting people, while our Education recognition reminds us that every learner deserves an opportunity to dream and succeed. Together, these achievements inspire us to continue creating programs that transform lives and build stronger, more resilient communities.”, according to Golimlim.

Building Communities, Creating Lasting Impact

These national recognitions reflect HFI’s unwavering commitment to its four pillars of development—Education, Health, Environment, and Cultural Heritage — and reinforce its mission of creating inclusive and empowered communities in Central Luzon and beyond.

Ana Christi Galura, HFI Executive Director, also thanks the LCF and its members for recognizing the efforts and contributions of HFI. These awards inspire HFI and the Hann Group’s employees to continue sharing their talents, time, and resources for others. This is a testament to how private organizations are integral to community development.

HFI is the social development arm of the Hann Group of companies. The Hann Group includes the Hann Casino Resort in Clark, Pampanga, and the Hann Reserve in New Clark City, Tarlac.
